Concert Ticket Sales Push America West U·S Airways Center To Top 10 In U.S.

Following $70 Million in Venue Advancements, America West U·S Airways Center Ranks in Top 15 Globally with 200,000 + Concert Ticket Sales Sold So Far in 2005

(PHOENIX, Ariz., November 2, 2005) – With an excess of over 200,000 concert tickets sold in the first nine months of 2005, U·S Airways Center is once again a top 10 performance venue. With a ranking of ninth in the U.S. and 15th globally, the arena outpaced other eminent arenas in larger markets such as Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Dallas and London, England. The accomplishment falls on the heels of a recently completed $70 million amenity advancement project, which has helped the venue maintain its status as a highly capable entertainment arena. Including its Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, Arizona Rattlers and Phoenix Roadrunners sporting events, U·S Airways Center hosts over two million visitors annually.

“This new honor underscores U·S Airways Center’s state of the art performance and event capabilities and the incredible amenities and hospitality that performers, managers and fans consistently enjoy,” explained Paige Peterson, President and General Manager for Sports Entertainment Services, which manages U·S Airways Center. “This achievement is a tribute to not only our showplace, but also to all of the employees who operate the venue day in and day out.”

This is not the first time U·S Airways Center has received world class accolades. When the arena first opened in 1992, the NBA and other organizations described it as one of the most advanced and innovative arenas in the U.S. U·S Airways Center designers and builders throughout the World have and continue to visit this standard setting venue to learn about its distinctive qualities.

“Our success demonstrates our tremendous expertise in staging shows and the power of our marketing capabilities,” said U·S Airways Center Vice President of Entertainment, Ralph Marchetta. “U·S Airways Center’s mission is to create the ideal experience for entertainers and patrons alike,” Marchetta added.

To ensure that U·S Airways Center remained one of the best facilities worldwide, the recent $70 million expansion project included the addition of the Bud Light Paseo – a versatile out-door venue featuring a full stage performance area for concerts and broadcasts and amazing new high-tech video equipment. In addition, the U·S Airways Center also added the 14,000 square foot Casino Arizona Pavilion with a 12 x 20 foot video wall, HD televisions throughout and the B Lounge night club – which offers court and concert view seating.
