PHOENIX – Tickets for the Phoenix Suns intra-squad exhibition game in Tucson are now available to the public. The game, which will feature the NBA’s reining MVP Steve Nash and All-Stars Amare’ Stoudemire and Shawn Marion, will take place at the McKale Center on the campus of the University of Arizona on Saturday, October 8 at 7 PM.
Doors open for the game at 6 PM, with fans being treated to appearances by the Suns Dancers, Adio Sol Patrol and the Suns Gorilla.
The suggested donation for admission is $7 for adults, $3 for kids ages 18 and under and U of A students with current university ID. All proceeds from the game will go to the University of Arizona to support university programs.
The intra-squad game, which will be the defending Pacific Division Champions’ first public on-court appearance of the 2005-06 NBA season, is part of the club’s training camp, which will be held in Tucson for the first time ever.
At the game, the Suns will also honor the memory of University of Arizona basketball player Shawntinice Polk, a senior center who died Monday morning at the age of 22 after collapsing in McKale Center.
The Suns will conduct their preseason training camp on the U of A campus Tuesday-Monday, October 4-10. The Suns 2005-06 preseason home opener will take place on October 15 at 7 PM, as the Suns host the Los Angeles Clippers at U·S Airways Center.
