SUNS, EPIC RECORDS ANNOUNCE NEW CORPORATE PARTNERSHIP
First agreement between NBA franchise and major record label will enhance online fan experience
PHOENIX – Marking the first partnership of its kind between an NBA franchise and a major record label, the Phoenix Suns and Epic Records have entered into a new corporate partnership agreement that will enhance fan entertainment value across all Suns online properties.
“The Suns are proud to partner with Epic Records. They are a legendary record label, featuring a variety of talented artists,” said Lynn Agnello, SVP of Marketing for the Phoenix Suns. “This is a great way for the Suns to create a more entertaining and energetic online experience for our fans.”
The partnership entails enhancements to the Suns’ award-winning team web site, Suns.com, including a customized jukebox player featuring music from national recording artists such as Michael Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson and Natasha Bedingfield, among others. The jukebox player will provide fans the opportunity to enjoy music from their favorite Epic artists while catching up on the latest Suns action. Epic music has also been integrated into the site’s popular flash introductions.
“We are thrilled about our partnership with the Phoenix Suns. Music and sports are a natural fit, and this will create a dynamic platform for the Suns and our artists,” said Lee Stimmel, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Epic Records.
In addition, customized jukebox players will be integrated within PlanetOrange.net, the Suns’ official social network, and SunsLockerRoom.com, the team’s virtual behind-the-scenes tour. The partnership will also highlight Epic content throughout the Suns in-game experience at US Airways Center.
