Members of Downtown Live can purchase tickets before the general public

PHOENIX – The Phoenix Mercury has clinched a playoff berth in the 2007 WNBA Playoffs for the first time in seven years. The 2007 Playoffs begin on August 23 and while the Mercury playoff schedule has not yet been set, potential Round 1 Game 1 home playoff dates are August 23, 25 or 26. Basketball fans can secure their spot at the first Mercury home playoff game by purchasing tickets which go on sale at noon on Saturday, August 11.

“The Mercury is back in the Playoffs and is working hard to bring a basketball title home to Phoenix,” said Mercury President and COO Jay Parry. “With tickets starting at just $10 in the lower-level for the first round, we expect that it will sell out quickly and encourage fans to buy tickets early in order to secure a great seat for the Playoffs.”

Tickets can be purchased online at www.phoenixmercury.com, by phone at 602.252.WNBA, at the US Airways Center box office and at all Ticketmaster locations. Fans who would like to receive ticket offers prior to public on sale dates throughout the Playoffs can sign up to become a member of Downtown Live free of charge at www.phoenixmercury.com.

The Mercury faces the New York Liberty at 7:00 p.m. tonight at US Airways Center. Saturday, August 11 is Mercury Back-to-School night at the Mercury home game against the Los Angeles Sparks. The final home game during the regular season is Sunday, August 19 against the Sacramento Monarchs. Tickets for all three remaining Mercury regular season home games are still available and can be purchased by visiting www.phoenixmercury.com.
