The Phoenix Roadrunners Release 2007-2008 Season Schedule
Phoenix Will Open Their Third Season at US Airways Center on October 19
PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, an affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes and the San Antonio Rampage, have announced their 72-game schedule for the upcoming 2007-08 season. The entire 900-game league schedule was released earlier today at the ECHL offices in Princeton, N.J.
For a third consecutive year, the RoadRunners will commence their season with a three-game weekend series against West Division rival Utah with the season and home opener scheduled for 7:11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19 at US Airways Center. Phoenix took two of three games from the Grizzlies during opening weekend last year, including a come-from-behind 3-2 win on Opening Night. The three-game set will kick off a season-high 11-game homestand which runs through Nov. 11.
The RoadRunners will play 28 of their 36 home games on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Starting times will remain the same as last year. Home games Monday through Saturday will begin at 7:11 p.m. while Sunday games will begin at 5:00 p.m.
The 2007-08 schedule features strictly National Conference opponents with all 72 games played inside the conference, and 49 of those 72 games inside the current West Division. The RoadRunners will play each divisional opponent at least eight times and every team in the National Conference at least seven times, while facing off against Las Vegas a total of 12 times, Idaho 11 times and Utah 10 times. The defending Brabham Cup Champion Wranglers make their first visit to US Airways Center at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11 for a Kelly Cup playoff re-match in the final game of the RoadRunners’ season-opening 11-game homestand.
