Washington Street will be closed from 1st Avenue to 4th Avenue from Friday, May 4th @ 6PM - Monday, May 7th @ 5AM.

Weekend Freeway Closures in Phoenix area (May 4-7)

            Work to add quiet rubberized asphalt or make other improvements along Valley freeways will require closures or restrictions this weekend (May 4-7).  The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) recommends drivers use alternate routes if possible to avoid the following restrictions:

*       Westbound Interstate 10 closed between Interstate 17 (at the “Split” near Sky Harbor Airport) and State Route 51 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (May 7) for rubberized asphalt paving.  Westbound I-10 on-ramp from west end of Sky Harbor Airport closed.  Southbound I-17 ramp to westbound I-10 near the airport also closed.  Westbound I-10 traffic will detour on northbound I-17, but drivers (including fans going to the Suns or Diamondbacks games) can also use northbound State Route 143 to westbound Loop 202 as alternate route.

*       Eastbound Interstate 10 narrowed to three lanes between 91st and 67th avenues from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (May 7) for rubberized asphalt paving.  Southbound Loop 101 ramp to eastbound I-10 closed.  Eastbound I-10 ramp to northbound Loop 101 closed.  Eastbound I-10 ramps between 91st and 67th avenues closed.  Use alternate routes.

*       Eastbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway) closed between the Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) and Crismon Road in East Mesa from 10 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday (May 6) for lane striping and sign work.  Northbound Loop 202 ramp to eastbound US 60 closed.  Eastbound US 60 on-ramp at Ellsworth Road and off-ramp at Crismon Road closed.  Traffic detoured on eastbound Baseline Road.

*       Westbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) closed between 59th and 75th avenues in Glendale from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday (May 5) for traffic technology work.  Westbound Loop 101 on-ramp at 51st Avenue closed.  Traffic will detour on frontage road.  Eastbound Loop 101 closed between 75th and 59th avenues from 10 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday (May 6) for traffic technology work.  Eastbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Union Hills Drive closed.  Traffic will detour on frontage road.

*       Westbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway) ramp to eastbound Interstate 10 (toward Tucson) closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (May 7) for bridge deck joint work.  Drivers who normally use this ramp can exit US 60 at Mill Avenue or Priest Drive and go south to westbound Baseline Road to connect with I-10.
